For the better part of eight years I have spent an enormous amount of time and energy posting on issues that I thought might be well-received by others, especially issues I feel very strongly about. And over the course of that period, I have been blessed - some might argue cursed - to have written for some top sites, met some of the brightest lights in gay porn and had the opportunity to interview everyone from Bruce LaBruce to Chi Chi LaRue to Bobby Blake to Johnny Hazzard. And if I could do it all over again, I probably would not change much.
But at some point, I'm not sure when, I realized that if I'm going to pursue other writing projects and other dreams I've held close to my heart, I would have to let this go. Unfortunately, there is only so much time in the day and as I age, I realize how precious that time becomes and how easily it is to allow that time to slip away.
Some, mainly good friends, have attempted to convince me to write less regularly, thus freeing up my time. And there is an argument to made for that. But the project I have lined up for 2013 - launching a website, writing a script and a novel - don't lend themselves well to the commitment - obsession really - that draws me to this blog over and over again. These projects will require more time than I currently have and whether or not they pan out, I will never know unless I try. So that is where I will now be directing my energies.
So that is why I will be saying goodbye with this post and that is why I say to those of you have read my thoughts over the years: Thank you.
And stay tuned, you haven't heard the last of me yet...
