(The following is a copy of the email I sent Daniel Nardicio, the organizer of the Hottest Bartender in NYC event: "And not a single man of color. And in New York, too...Victor." I have not heard back from him yet and, frankly, don't suspect I will. I've published the only other image that was attached with the press release below. Which one would you have used? I reasoned that one white man was insulting enough, let alone five, in representing a promotion for a contest in the most ethnically diverse city in the world.)

My friends and I said it time and again, regardless of what one may think of Daniel Nardicio's contribution to the NYc nightlife, he has shown time and time again that he caters to white guys and white guys alone.

Having one black go-go dancer at his 'shing-digs' admist 7-8 white, but extremely mediocre looking bodied go-go boys hardly counts as representing nyc's diverse gay scene. I've watched him acknowledge the men who attend his events if they aren't white boys, he looks right through them and seriously seems to hate that non-whites attend his events (fire island events all summer, how stereotypical white are these?)

Sad to see even fewer latino and asian go-go boys at his events. So along with bitching about it, We've made a pact stop (my friends include a number of blacks/latins/asians/whites who time after time have supported a number of his eventa, d-list, new orleans parties, the woodshop space on 9th ave and the latest underwear parties on sunday nights.

If his ''preference'' is to date white gusy, fine, but as a party promoter in the most diverse city in america with his proven racist attitude is such a slap in the face. Asians, blacks, latin, other races have continued to support him, but at his latest event, we noticed the ''minority'' clientel rather low. Just another white-washed, chelsea boy mentality party.

Finally this is a behavior we noticed going back to 2004 when he was a hot commodity at The Slide, and other spaces in/around the east village. The final straw was this past sunday. Plenty of non=whites attended his event and he simply catered to the white boys, only having white go-go dancers galore, bartendars, dj's, white white white white white.

As a side bar, my circle of friends are HOT black, asian, latin, and white guys who are intelligent, worked out, very kind, support the nyc gay community (including queens, brooklyn, even jersey bars) all college graduates in different professions who don't do drugs, and under 30. Yet Daniel continues to cater to white boys who frequent fire island; We are done done done with Daniel Nardicio ANYTHING. So this new event/hottest bartender is NO surprise.

So from my circle of friends, Daniel won, he can have his parties, dlist, and events without us. We'll go elsewhere.
