After careful consideration of the issue of same-sex marriage, MOC has decided to support Proposition 8 which would eliminate the right of same-sex couples to marry. Here are my reasons:
1) If we allow homosexuals to marry, we would, in fairly short order, allow homosexuals to marry their Miatas.
2) Allowing homosexuals to marry threatens the sanctity of traditional marriage. (Madonna, Britney Spears, Larry Craig and the state of Massachusetts aside.)
3) Marriage has been an unquestioned tradition for hundreds of years.(Like slavery.)
4) We cannot allow activist judges to overrule the will of the people. (Except in cases like Eminent Domain, Torture and Segregation.)
5) A child needs to be raised in a traditional family with one man and one woman. (All gay children raised in heterosexual households aside.)
6) If we allow gay marriage, teachers could be forced to teach that gay marriage is equal to straight marriage. (In much the same way that teachers could be forced to teach about bestiality, scrapbooking and cocktails.)
Please. Don't let this happen to your Miata.
