Thanks for a sane take on this hysteria. I agree that $2300 is not a big deal and what the person does with it is his business however offensive and self-loathing it is. I know Jonathan and have worked with Manhunt. His Republicanism is no secret so I don't know why the board was SHOCKED to find out he gave to McCain. But in defense of his company, they have been VERY generous to AIDS causes around the world and particularly to AIDS prevention work. They also give to GLBT and pride causes. My guess is that they have donated more cash and in-kind advertising to AIDS prevention work than some of these mainstream sites like Gay.com. And Jonathan personally signs off on these generous donations on behalf of his company. I hope whoever replaces him is as generous.

ummm, he owns the company....or half of it, so "stepping down" means nothing. the $$ you're sending to this douche for mancunt access is still going into his pocket so he can send more to republican assholes and (apparently) keep going to krispy kreme every day.

You're right. It is his money, and he can spend it any right or wrong way he wants to. The same way some married men (be their spouse male or female) spend their money on prostitutes.
I use that compairson because that like Manhunt is inherently self-destructive as you stated.
Plus Crutchley's co-ownership of Manhunt.net, as well his donation to a candidate that actually has no love for him, speaks volumes about his psyche. It shows Crutchley's own self-loathing. I feel that way about any gay that would side with anyone or any movement that is clearly anti-gay, like gay Blacks trying to force their way into mainstream hip-hop. It's the only logical explanation as to why he would do such a thing. He's probably still harboring whatever guilt was put in him about his sexuality in his younger years. I should know because before I realized and came to terms with my sexuality, I covered my butt by having drawn out analyzing conversations with my religious mom about how people become gay. If I had Crutchley's money, and while realizing my sexuality, never fully coming to terms with it, I could see myself doing the same thing.
This vresion of hiding can go on in some gay men for decades. Crutchly is a perfect example. So I feel more sorry for him, than angry at him.
