Qr Magazine

Black History "Month" is to February what (blank) is to January. And, no, Martin Luther King "Day" is not the answer. Why it's magazine launch and kind-of-re-launch month. JustUsBoys.com, the website magazine had recently announced their switch from a bi-quarterly to bi-monthly publication. It's free - which is good - and it's commitment to diversity through its models is there. Just not all there. Yet. But NOT to worry. MOC will be there with you - bi-monthly - gently reminding you when your pages start to look blank with all that whiteness. The 'launch' component of the month, however, goes to Qr Magazine, a Young. Gay. Now. effort. Started by a former XY-er, Qr apires to Edgy. Cool. It bills itself to those "twenty and up" and promises insights into "your first kiss" (overrated) to your "first drunken night at the bar" (underrated) to "surviving puberty to surviving college." Although I'm not that sure at 20 you're altogether too worried about how to survive puberty. I'd be more worried that I was still going through it at twenty. But if it survives the declining readership of magazines in general, it will manage to reflect its generation of readers admirably both in style, content and in diversity. And THAT makes any month history.
